My parents like to tell me that I had a talent for singing from a very young age--repeating back musical phrases, memorizing lyrics, playing piano melodies by ear, and taking solo opportunities at any chance that I was given by age two. During my early-teen years, though, I was not so eager to seek the "limelight". I had become very shy and could hardly muster up the courage to speak on the telephone to someone I didn't know. It was the introduction of music and performance that began to re-instill that forgotten passion in me as a young teenager.
Through music and performance, my confidence in myself and courage in my abilities bloomed, in more than just music.

I was blessed with many opportunities over the years to perform and compete musically in both solo and ensemble settings. Many of my private instructors, ensemble teachers, and university professors urged me to seriously think about making a career of solo performance. While I wrestled with the idea for many years, I had always had a deep desire to be a mother and to be able to watch my own children grow. I greatly enjoy teaching students one-on-one and taking some opportunities to perform and support the arts in my community during this season of my life. I look forward to many more years celebrating life in this way.
